Some three billion consumers – representing the new wave of middle class affluence – will be linked to the maritime routes on China’s Belt and Road Initiative, spelling out tremendous opportunities for international trade, says Dr Victor Fung, the Fung Group chairman, in this first of a two-part interview. E-commerce will play its role, introducing a new category of “B-to-small b” initiatives, he believes.
